Moving Up and Out!
It’s that time of year again! High school & college kids are graduating to the next step in their lives. This is a huge & crazy time for everyone involved in any of it. Some are moving out of the house… some are preparing for dorm life… some are moving on to their first apartment or house.
In my humble opinion, every kitchen needs certain things in it to start people off on the right foot in life. Sure, it’s easy to order pizza or get a premade meal, but that can get very pricy very quickly. And looking through all the aisles and aisles of kitchen products can get super-overwhelming. That’s why I’ve come up with a sure-fire list of products that are high-quality, easy-to-use, and most wanted/needed by my customers. These are perfect for recent graduates as well as anyone starting off in life.
Top 10 Pampered Chef Graduation Gifts
This set has every basic tool you need to stock your kitchen. I personally think the utensils that come with this are worth the price alone… I use them multiple times a day. Really, this set is perfect for new cooks, first apartments, and dorm-life. Also, by purchasing this as a set instead of separately, you save $15.
Flexible Cutting Mat Set, Coated Bread Knife, Coated Chef’s Knife, Coated Santoku Knife, Coated Tomato Knife, Coated Utility Knife, Coated Paring Knife, and the Multicolor Kitchen Utensil Set : Turner, Small Turner, Slotted Spoon, and Spoon
Let’s face it… microwave cooking is one of the easiest ways for new cooks to prepare their foods. I can’t say enough good things about this set. Honestly,
all of your microwave cooking needs are covered with the Micro-Cooker Set! Our popular Micro-Cookers are better than ever: The set nests together for easy, compact storage and the lids snap together so they never get lost. Use the 1-qt. size for small servings and sides, and the 2-qt. size for family-size side dishes. The 3-qt. Micro-Cooker® Plus is perfect for rice, grains, and other starchy foods. Another added bonus: they’re all dishwasher-safe. Score!
Speaking of ways to make cooking easier, the Microwave Popcorn Maker gives you the convenience of a bag of microwaveable popcorn without the extra cost and chemicals. Just fill the cup with popcorn kernels, add oil or butter if you want, and put it in the microwave—you’ll have a healthy snack in minutes. Perfect for late-night college study sessions, or munching on during a movie night.
Ok, I know it’s cliche to say, but pizza really is the “go-to” for lots of college-aged & young adults. It’s the way of the world. The Pizza & Crust Cutter is two great tools in one: A pizza wheel on one side and a crust cutter on the other means you can cut through every crust, every time, with just one tool—no matter what type of pan it’s in. It’s especially helpful for use in pans with high sides or rims. This is one gift that’s sure to get a regular workout!
This is easily one of my very favorites that I think EVERYONE needs to have. Snacks are a big deal in my house, and I’m pretty sure that’s the norm for a lot of people. With this set, you can make easy, homemade, allergen-free granola, snack, and candy bars. Bake everyting right in the silicone pan, and the lid covers it all up so that you can store your goodies in the fridge or on the counter.
I admit it. I love this little doo-dad so much that I have two of them in a regular rotation. You can crack up to four eggs into the container, shake them up, and pop them in the microwave for a fast homemade breakfast. You can even add your favorite toppings for a quick omelet, poach eggs, or make instant oatmeal that won’t boil over. I have even made those popular “mug cakes” in them from time to time… for those days where you only want enough cake for one, you don’t want to crank up the oven, and life is better if you just get your cake in under 3 minutes. The lid’s vent hole lets steam escape as you cook, and includes a silicone gasket to keep the lid secure.
Ok, everyone knows that it’s super important to get in all your water every day, but some days that’s really hard to do! Why not make sure your favorite graduate has no excuses, by grabbing one of these for them (and maybe one for you too…)? Just throw your favorite fruits, herbs, or whatnot into the bottom of the bottle, fill it with water, and drink. The stopper keeps you from drinking the “chunks,” but allows all the flavor to get into the water. Win!
The Rockcrok Casserole is the ideal size pan for side dishes, appetizers, desserts, or small main dishes. It’s constructed from durable clay that withstands super-high heat, making it a go-to vessel for every cooking method—stovetop, broiler, oven, microwave, and grill. It will quickly become your favorite graduate’s favorite cookware! (And it will last them YEARS!)
Just like everyone knows how important it is to drink all your water every day, everyone also knows that “breakfast is the most important meal of the day.” Why not make it super-easy for your favorite grad to make a quick, healthy homemade breakfast sandwich to munch on their way out the door? Just add your eggs, filling, and bread, then follow the instructions for a fun, portable breakfast that satisfies. English muffins, sandwich thins, and other breads are gently steamed, so they don’t get rubbery.
This little underrated gadget is a beast. In all the best ways. Yes, your recent grad is probably going to be eating more than a few canned items over the next few years. Make it easier for them to get into their food with this can opener. Instead of cutting metal, it actually loosens the glued seal at the top of cans, creating a smooth top & sides of the can (no “oopsy cuts” to worry about, Mom!). Not only that but if there happen to be leftovers in the can when they’re done, the top of the can fits right back on so that they can store their leftovers in the fridge with no having to look for a clean storage dish. Score!
