Old Fashioned Baked Rice Pudding in the Deep Covered Baker

Baked Rice Pudding

This old-fashioned baked treat will make you feel all warm and cozy!

  • 1/2 cup Rice
  • 2 cups Milk
  • 1 cup Water
  • 1/2 Tbsp butter
  • 1/2 tsp Watkins Ground Cinnaon
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Watkins Baking Vanilla
  • 1/3 cup Raisins optional


  • Mix all ingredients except raisins and pour into a heavily buttered Deep Covered Baker or casserole dish.
  • Bake at 300F for one hour.
  • Reduce heat to 250F for one more hour.
  • Stir in the raisins and bake another 1/2 hour.
  • Rice pudding will be done when a cake tester comes out almost clean. When the rice pudding is done baking, allow to cool for at least 30 minutes before serving.

If you chose to double the recipe, ensure that you adjust baking times accordingly. My double batch baked for 3 1/2 hours instead of the 2 1/2.
